Wild Turkey Farms CSA Update

We are currently planning and planting in anticipation of warmer weather and hopefully more rain this spring & summer. We have several additions to the farm over the last month including a new greenhouse and 2 new litters of Berkshire pigs. For those of you not familiar with the Berkshire breed of, they are considered the gourmet chef's choice of pork because of their high marbling and excellent meat quality. As always we are constantly looking for ways to provide the finest quality local meat and produce to our customers. We will have over an acre of market garden this year. A few of the current crops that we have started are- several lettuces, spinach, argula, brocolli, cauliflower, swiss chard, fennel, celery, leeks, onions, and a variety of herbs.

Our CSA model has changed slightly from last year as we plan to attend the Salsibury Farmer's Market most Saturdays begining in late April. This year we are offering a credit share program.

How it works- you can purchase one or several $50 shares. This will be a credit with Wild Turkey Farms that you can redeem by coming by the Salisbury Farmers Market on Saturdays or our farm by appointment during the week. The full value of your share will be available for the purchase of produce, honey, eggs and up to 1/2 of your share amount can be used toward the purchase of pork & beef from our farm.

The credit will be good through July 15 which will take us well into the tomato, pepper, and melon season. CSA members will be emailed each week with a list of what's available and will be given the opportunity to "reserve" items that are in limited supply. We look foward to the opportunity to provide your family with healthy, nutritious, and local food.

If you have questions or would like to come visit our farm please call us at 704-202-9348.

Thank you for supporting small farms and local agriculture,
